Teaching Chinese in Minnesota

The College offers all interested Mandarin Chinese speakers three different pathways to state teaching licensure.

  • A traditional 15-month postbaccalaureate licensure program in second languages and cultures will be offered to all those interested in teaching world languages. This is the ideal program for those new to teaching.
  • The College also offers an additional licensure pathway for those Chinese speakers who are already licensed teachers in Minnesota.
  • For those Chinese speakers with teaching experience who are not licensed but cannot fit a traditional licensure program into their current schedules, the College will work to create an individualized program that will bring those students to full licensure as rapidly as possible.
