The Aurora Center for Advocacy and Education
The Aurora Center for Advocacy and Education is committed to the
belief that all people have the right to live free of violence and
the fear of violence. Services offered by the Aurora Center for the
entire University of Minnesota community include advocacy, crisis
intervention, information and referral, and consultation.
Office for University
Women
This office works to improve and enhance the campus climate for
women faculty, staff, and students through addressing the workplace
issues and concerns of women faculty, staff, and students; serving
as a catalyst for institutional change and renewal; and recognizing
and celebrating women's contributions and achievements.
Minnesota Coalition
for Battered Women
This organization works to end violence against women.
Silent Witness
The mission of Silent Witness is to heal adult relationships in
order to eliminate domestic homicides by the year 2010.
Student Parent Help Center
The Student Parent HELP (higher education for low-income people)
Center offers programs that designed to promote access, retention
and academic success for University students who are parents.
Facilities offered to all University student parents include a
lounge with computers, refrigerator, microwave, fax, and phone. The
lounge is also the location of weekly group meetings during the
school year. Services offered to undergraduate student parents
working on their first degree program include child care grants and
emergency funds.
