What do you do at ETC Services?

I am a volunteer, so I try to help out with whatever I can.

Education

B.S. Psychology, Minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
Northwestern College, Saint Paul

How did you get here?

After graduating college I was a career-intern for Workforce Solutions which required me to serve two different high schools in the Twin Cities Metro area. I attended a high school counselor fair at the U of M where I met Patti Neiman, ETC Services associate director. I asked Patti if there were any volunteer opportunities for the summer of 2007 in her department and she was surprised by the question since no one had approached her for a volunteer opportunity before. Now I am honored to be a volunteer at ETC Services for the summer and throughout the 2007-2008 school year. I am also excited that I will be starting my masters in educational psychology.

What do you like about your job?

Working with people who pursue their dreams and go above and beyond what they are expected to do.

Most unusual job you ever had:

A clarinet player who played one note for a radio commercial.

More about you:

My interests include spending time with my beloved husband and family, salsa dancing, learning languages, cooking Mexican food, eating good food, swimming, traveling to Mexico and Japan, being a youth group leader, and watching the Mexico international soccer team play.

What tip would you give students for getting the most out of ETC Services?

Ask all the questions that you may have about your career and explore all your career options by getting to know yourself first. Every question is important to us and we are here to help you as you pursue your career.
