What do you do at ETC Services?
I assist students and faculty that have any questions about our services and resources. I also answer phone calls and organize the center.
Education
I am a third year undergrad in the College of Liberal Arts, where I’m designing my own major which includes Child Psychology, Youth Studies, and ASL.
How did you get here?
I got the job at the ETC Services center because I was a student that came into the center regularly for advice. After being there for awhile and getting to know the director and counselors, one of the staff members suggested that I apply for a position in the center because they thought that I would be a good fit.
What do you like about your job?
I’m able to meet and help different students at the U. Also, I’m able to learn about the U of M and the different opportunities that it has to offer students.
Most unusual job you ever had:
My most unusual job would be my experience working at the YMCA because each day I am faced with working with different types of people and situations good or bad that keep me on my feet. That makes working at the YMCA unusual, because I never know what’s going to happen the next day.
More about you:
I enjoy helping people, and helping them solve problems. I like to talk and meet new individuals. I’m open to new ideas and different experiences. I’m energetic and like to see others happy. Also, I like to smile a lot!
What tip would you give students for getting the most out of ETC Services?
The biggest tip that I can give would be when you come into the walk-in center, ask the staff that is working any questions that you have concerning the University, because they are a great resource.
