Agricultural education

The undergraduate program in agricultural education prepares students for a wide range of teaching or agribusiness careers by developing leadership and communication skills.

Three specializations in agricultural education are available. Two of the program’s specializations (agricultural science and technology education, and natural and managed environmental education) prepare students for Minnesota state licensure in grades 5-12 to teach agricultural education, such as agricultural science, agribusiness, agriscience education, agrimechanics, horticulture, and natural resources. In addition, graduates will be prepared for licensure as teacher coordinator of work-based learning. The non-teaching agricultural leadership, training, and development specialization provides general education in agriculture, with a strong focus on developing “people skills” in agribusiness.
