Graduate minor in international education
The graduate minor in international education is a coordinated set
of courses designed for students who wish to enter careers in
research, consulting, administration, teaching, law, public health,
public policy, or many other fields and who desire an international
education foundation to supplement their graduate majors or
professional fields of study. Courses include readings, discussions,
and assignments designed to develop the skills essential to
professionals intending to work or teach abroad or who will work in
the U.S. in an international context.
Any student admitted to a Graduate School program (e.g., M.A.,
M.S., Ed.D., Ph.D., S.C., M.S.W.) at the University of Minnesota,
regardless of college or enrollment, is encouraged to apply for this
minor.
Admission to the minor program is limited and only by permission of
the International Committee of the College of Education and Human
Development and the
director of graduate
studies for the Department of Educational Policy and Administration. Students interested in this option are welcome to consult
with the director of graduate studies.
Curriculum
9 graduate-level semester credits at the master’s level; 12
graduate-level semester credits at the doctoral level. There are no
language requirements.
