Licensing and leadership development for educational administrators

Applying to the program

Licensure program application (required for entry into the program) [.doc]

Community and alternative education cohort application [.pdf] [also available as a .doc]

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. In addition to a completed application and a 1-2 page essay (see application for instructions), there is a program fee of $550, which is applied to the costs of the pre-assessment, pre-panel, and panel reviews.

Students pursuing multiple endorsements pay $550 for the first license and $275 for subsequent licenses. Students pursuing a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in addition to an administrative license are charged a program fee of $275 for each license sought. Applications to the doctoral and licensure programs are separate processes. Only three-credit licensure courses that have been approved by the candidate's adviser may be counted toward an Ed.D. or Ph.D. If you are considering doing both, contact Ann Werner at licensure@umn.edu.

No GRE scores are required.

Re-application
The re-application form [.pdf] is for students not enrolled for three or more consecutive semesters or for change of program status.

Tuition and course registration

For the 2004-05 school year, resident administrative licensure students pay a tuition rate of $325.81 per credit (for course loads below 12 credits.) For current tuition rates, see the professional school rate (departmental master's tuition rate) at the College's tuition and fees Web site: www.cehd.umn.edu/students/tuition.html

NOTE: Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice.

Courses may be taken by students not in the licensure program. When enrolling for the first time, please send your forms to the licensure program secretary. You can fax them to 612-624-3377 or send them via mail to the address at left. Subsequent registrations should be done online via One Stop. For further information about registration and student services fees, see Student Services.
