The emphasis of my professional career has been public education: as a teacher, school counselor, and assistant professor. As a K-12 school counselor, I became interested in higher education training programs for school counselors. My interest continues in that area as I strive to intertwine reality and theory into school counselor education. My research interests include the training of school counselors, the formulation and change of educational aspirations of students K-12, and the use of technology in comprehensive school counseling programs K-12.

My passion is children, from birth to old age. Most recently I implemented a comprehensive guidance/counseling program in a new elementary school as a pilot program for the practicum/intern experience. I also proposed a presentation, at a national conference, on the value of play and humor in the elderly population. My enthusiasm is for teaching--providing students the challenge to grow, learn and become efficient and expert counselors in our schools.
