2008-2009 Merwin Graduate Assistantship
Professor Jack Merwin, former dean of the College of Education
and chair of Educational Psychology, has established a special
endowment to support graduate students in educational measurement
and evaluation. This year there will be an opportunity for a student
in PsyF/QME to be designated as the Jack Merwin Graduate Assistant.
This assistantship is awarded biennially.
The Merwin Graduate Assistantship consists of 50% support (25%
teaching assistant and 25% research assistant) for Fall Semester
2008 and Spring Semester 2009.
The research responsibilities will be defined at a later time
with the recipient’s advisor. The teaching assistant portion of the
award will be based on the award recipient's interests and
background. Applicants should indicate in their letter of
application the courses in which they are interested in assisting
(as listed in the GA Academic Year
job posting).
Applicants for the Jack Merwin Graduate Assistantship must be
students in the Psychological Foundations or Quantitative Methods
track with preference given to applicants with an emphasis in
measurement and evaluation.
Please send a letter of application by March 17, 2008, specifying
your qualifications (including coursework completed), a short
narrative on how this position will relate to your academic and
professional interests, courses in which you are interested in
assisting, and plans for other work during the 2008 2009 academic
