Educational psychology: special education track

Doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.)

The doctor of philosophy degree leads primarily to a career as a researcher and university professor.

Master of arts (M.A.)

The master of arts degree leads to a career in research or continued study to complete the doctorate. This program does not lead to licensure.

Licensure/Master of education (M.Ed.)

To obtain initial or additional licensure, students must first enroll in the master of education program. This program is primarily for those interested in K-12 classroom teaching.

Certificates

Certificates in applied behavior analysis and autism spectrum disorder are designed to prepare teachers and related service personnel.

Our goal is to advance opportunities for learning and development of infants, children and adults who require specialized instruction, educational adaptations and support for their learning efforts to succeed. The special education faculty is committed to research, leadership and practice that will have an impact on academic, social and behavioral development in diverse cultural contexts.
