International education

It's a priority

College students abroad
Students engage in international study research.

The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is committed to promoting international and intercultural understanding and dialogue among students and faculty, as well as the broader community. To facilitate that, the College offers numerous opportunities and resources for engaging in international education activities focused on six priorities:

    1. international development assistance
    2. international research
    3. supporting relationships with higher education institutions in international settings
    4. supporting international students
    5. providing international opportunities for students
    6. distance education

Academics

Research and outreach support the
work of our international partners.

In addition to collegewide priorities, we offer several academic offerings within departments for internationally-minded students.

A central focus of the international education programs are M.A. and Ph.D. concentrations in international education leadership and comparative and international development education. One of the few of its kind, this program attracts student from all over the world, interested in development work, intercultural education, and international educational exchanges. The Educational Policy and Administration program is also home to a University-wide interdisciplinary graduate minor in international education.

Internationalization, however, extends far beyond international degree programs. All departments have opportunities for international study (through the University's Learning Abroad Center) and courses with international foci. In addition, the College hosts monthly “International Connections” talks to highlight the work of College faculty, staff, and students.

A major strength of the College is its internationally-minded and experienced faculty. Click on here to find out where our faculty and staff are working.
