Ph.D. in kinesiology

Kinesiology Ph.D. students emphasize one of the following areas: biomechanics and neural control, exercise physiology, human factors/ergonomics, motor development, motor learning/motor development, sport and exercise psychology, sport sociology, or adapted physical education.

Degree requirements:
The Ph.D. requires 72 credits, (including at least 24 credits in kinesiology, 9 credits in statistical methods 12 credits in a supporting program or  minor—statistical methods courses may be included—and an additional 3 credits in an any of these areas,) and 24 thesis credits. A 3.00 minimum GPA is required to maintain good standing and to graduate.

Language requirements: None.

Exams: Preliminary written examination, preliminary oral examination, thesis, final oral exam (thesis defense)
