B.S. in kinesiology

The bachelor's degree in kinesiology educates students in the biological, behavioral, and social basis of human physical activity.

The degree is an excellent preparation for individuals interested in pursuing professional opportunities in a wide range of physical activities and allied health-related professions such as

  • exercise rehabilitation,
  • exercise science,
  • athletic training,
  • physical and occupational therapy,
  • medicine,
  • and nursing.

In addition, interested kinesiology students are eligible for entry into the coaching certificate program, and upon completion of the B.S. degree, a fifth year professional preparation program to acquire licensure to teach physical education in the public schools of the State of Minnesota. With its science based preparation, this degree is also an excellent base for students interested in graduate degrees in the field of kinesiology at the University of Minnesota, and across the nation.
