Graduates of the Ph.D. program with a major in education, and an
emphasis in recreation, park and leisure studies find career
opportunities in a variety of academic and program management settings.
The academic positions typically are as an assistant professor teaching
and conducting research in recreation, park and leisure studies programs
in colleges and universities in this country, Canada, and at other
international settings. But some Ph.D. graduates of the program seek
career opportunities in research centers located at universities. Others
seek positions in leisure service management and planning in public,
not-profit and commercial entities.
