J. Anna Norris Award

Background
Award named for J. Anna Norris, a female pioneer in teaching women's athletics at the University of Minnesota.

Purpose
The J. Anna Norris Award seeks to reward or encourage participation and enthusiasm of female students seeking teaching licensure or adult education in physical education.

Operational details
Amounts awarded range from $100 to $800 and are announced in the summer.

Application
Applicants must be female students accepted into, or enrolled in, the initial teacher licensure program in physical education or in a graduate program which would likely lead to a career in college teaching or adult education in physical education and/or sport.

The deadline for a letter of application is June 15. Please send to:

The letter should identify the nature of financial need, and a current academic transcript must be attached.
