Claire’s research interests include economics of higher
education, financing higher education as well as higher
education in a global context. Her current studies focus on
American high school students’ course-taking as related to
college access and achievements by analyzing national
databases.

Kelly R. Risbey's current research interests involve faculty
workload and productivity, faculty development, changes in faculty
appointment types, and higher education accountability initiatives.

Emily A. Ronning, ronn0044@umn.edu
Emily's research interests include: pursuit of the
ever-evolving meaning of "public good," the role of Land
Grant institutions in current times, relationships between
research universities and industry, and academic misconduct.

Thomas Sanford,

Thomas’s research interests deal with State Flagship
Universities and their relationship with the state, The idea
of Public Good/Social Compact, and the institutional pursuit
of prestige.

S. Lynn Shollen,
sholl008@umn.edu
Lynn’s research interests include the relationship
between identity and perception of leadership,
organizational culture, and faculty mentoring. She is a
co-author of the forthcoming book, “Faculty Success through
Mentoring: A Guide for Mentors, Mentees, and Leaders.” The
book is designed to help administrators and faculty of
academic institutions develop and implement successful
mentoring programs for diverse faculty at all career stages.

Fritz Vandover,

Fritz's research interests focus on the effect of
organizational structures and cultures among faculty, staff,
and administrators on the innovation and diffusion of
instructional technology in postsecondary education.
