Linda Buturian is a writer whose first book, a collection of essays titled, World Gone Beautiful: Life Along the Rum River, was published in May 2008 by Cathedral Hill Press. Buturian’s short stories, essays, and interviews have appeared in publications including Utne Reader magazine, and anthologies, Life in Body (Cathedral Hill 2005), and Shouts and Whispers (Eerdmans 2006). Linda holds an M.A. in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Cincinnati, and a B.A. in English Literature from Wheaton College.
Linda has taught composition, and currently teaches humanities and multidisciplinary writing-intensive courses. Recently, she designed and taught a freshman seminar on the resource of water that integrated texts, film, and guest speakers from both the arts and the environmental sciences. Buturian received a grant to incorporate technology into the seminar, and students created digital stories on water-related topics. Buturian is at work on completing the seminar website which will feature the students’ stories.
