Does an after school program community work? St. Paul Public schools
had the Center for
Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI)
research the impact of regular participation in their 21st
Century Community Learning Centers program. In
addition to hard numbers such as test scores and attendance, the
CAREI team conducted dozens of interviews with parents,
administration, and staff.
So, does the after school program work? The answer is a
resounding "yes."
