Professional Development Opportunities:
Bridging Research to Practice

2008-2009 Workshops for K-6 School Improvement in Reading

These workshops can be used to carry out your school improvement plan if needed.  The workshops will present information and proven ways to achieve lasting results, and are based on research done with 75 REA and Reading First schools in Minnesota that implemented The Minnesota School Change in Reading Project, as designed by Barbara Taylor, Director of the Minnesota Center for Reading Research. A team of people from your school will learn how to implement school-wide professional development and reading reform that has been proven to lead to accelerated growth and achievement in students’ reading. The sessions will focus on organizational change and the development of shared leadership and school-wide collaboration.
