Continuous Improvement
Each spring the School of Social Work surveys students enrolled in the MSW Program. The purpose of the survey is to determine how well the students think that the program has prepared them in the knowledge, skills, and values areas represented by the Program's Objectives.
Students who have completed the Program's foundation (that is, the first 25 credits, including the first field experience, required of students in the full program) answer the Student Evaluation of the MSW Program Foundation Objectives. Students who have completed their concentration answer either the Student Evaluation of the MSW Program Direct Practice Objectives or the Student Evaluation of the MSW Program Community Practice Objectives, depending upon their course of study. As a major part of the evaluation, students rate how well they think they have learned the objectives on a scale of 1 (almost nothing learned) to 7 (an exceptional amount learned).
The following tables summarize students' ratings of the objectives for the years 2004 and 2005. The feedback is used by the faculty to understand both the strengths and challenges faced by the Program.
