A minor that explores youth
as an idea,
as persons,
as an age group,
and as a life stage -
seeking to understand their everyday lives and study the ways
communities respond to them.
This minor builds on the work done over thirty years by the Center for Youth Development & Research and the Youth Studies Program at the School of Social Work, College of Education + Human Development.

YOST 1001: Seeing Youth, Thinking Youth: Media, Popular Media & Scholarship
(3 cr) -
Choose 3-4 Youth Studies elective credits.
In consultation with the Undergraduate Advisor. -
Choose 6 general elective credits.

YOST 4002W: Constructing Personal Models of Youth Scholarship and Youthwork
(4 cr; writing intensive; offered spring semester) - This minor requires 16-17 total credits.
