Requirements for a Master of Arts (M.A.):

Work and Human Resource Education with a Specialization in Adult Education

Current students should complete program planning sheets to help you meet your program requirements.

Minimum of 34 credits required for graduation; at least 6 credits must be taken outside the department

General Aspects

  • WHRE 5001—Survey of HRD and Adult Education (3 cr)

Research

  • WHRE 8915—Ethics and Responsible Research (1 cr)
    and
    • WHRE 5901—Using Research in Work and Human Resource Education (3 cr)
      or
      WHRE 8911—Foundations of Inquiry (3 cr)
      or
      WHRE 8912—Quantitative Research (3 cr)
      or
      CI 8913—Interpretive Research (3 cr)
      or
      CI 8914—Critical Science Research (3 cr)

Project for Plan B (3-6 credits)

  • WHRE 5993—Directed Study in Work and Human Resource Education (3-6 cr)

Specialization (minimum of 15 credits)

  • AdEd 5101—Strategies for Teaching Adults (3 cr)
  • AdEd 5102—Perspectives of Adult Learning and Development (3 cr)
  • AdEd 5103—Designing the Adult Education Program (3 cr)
  • HRD 5301—Organization Development (3 cr)

Electives (as needed to complete 34 credits)
