Internet Privileges
University-assigned e-mail accounts are
the official means of communications with students. It is the student's responsibility to initiate the
account through any Academic & Distributed Computing Services (ADCS)
Helpline or via the web. Walk-in help is available at: 50 Coffey Hall
(St. Paul Campus), 152 Shepard Labs (East Bank, Minneapolis campus),
and 93a Blegen Hall (West Bank, Minneapolis campus). For additional
help, call 612-301-4357 or check out the ADCS Web site at http://www1.umn.edu/adcs/.
Many of our courses are supported by
Web enhancements that require
you to use your University of Minnesota e-mail address. If you prefer
to use another address, you can have all of the mail messages sent to
your University of Minnesota address forwarded automatically to your
preferred address. Use directions found at the ADCS Web site to do
this; it is very simple to do.
Students can purchase an Internet Kit
(available on CD or disk) that includes software for communication,
e-mail and web browsing at any of the ADCS facilities or the bookstore
electronics desk.
