Curriculum

Requirements for a Master of Arts (M.A.):

Work and Human Resource Education with a Specialization in Business and Industry Education

Current students should complete program planning sheets.

Minimum of 30 credits required for graduation; at least 6 credits must be taken outside the department

General Aspects (6 credits minimum)

  • BIE 5605—Critical Issues in Business and Industry (3 cr)
    and
  • BIE 5325—Foundations of Industrial Education (3 cr)
    or
    BIE 5475—Curriculum Development for Business and Marketing Education (3 cr)

Research (3-4 credits)

  • WHRE 8915—Ethics and Responsible Research (1 cr)
    and
  • WHRE 8911—Foundations of Inquiry (3 cr)
    or
    WHRE 5901—Using Research in Work and Human Resource Education (3 cr)
    or
    WHRE 8912—Quantitative Research (3 cr)
    or
    CI 8913—Interpretive Research (3 cr)
    or
    CI 8914—Critical Science Research (3 cr)

Plan B Paper

  • BIE 5993—Directed Study in Business and Industry Education (1-4 cr)

Specialization (15 credit minimum)

  • One elective in BIE (minimum)

Electives (6 cr. minimum)

Must be selected from outside the department/ major (not AdEd, AFEE, BIE, HRD, VoEd, WHRE, or prior designators for these areas)
