The Department of Work and Human Resource Education is located at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities on the St. Paul campus. The Vocational and Technical Education Building, completed in 1982, has 97,000 square feet, and is flanked on one side by the Magrath Library and on the other side by the Continuing Education and Conference Center.

The Department of Work and Human Resource Education employs 11 tenure track faculty, 7 support staff, and over 26 graduate assistants who are working on advanced degrees. 190 doctoral students and 160 master's students from 69 countries are currently enrolled in our graduate programs. The faculty are well-known nationally and internationally for the quality of their research and publications. External review teams have judged the Department as one of the best, most productive units of its type in the nation. The Department was ranked fourth nationally in the vocational education category (work education) in the 2009 U.S. News and World Report ranking of graduate schools.
