Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board Declaration

WHEREAS, Dr. Mary McEvoy was tirelessly committed to improving the lives of young children; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Mary McEvoy was Professor of Educational Psychology and a Faculty Affiliate with the Center for Early Education and Development at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Mary McEvoy was an active member of the Early Childhood Work Group and instrumental in defining its vision and direction; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Mary McEvoy was a key partner in developing the federal Early Learning Opportunities Act Grant proposal for the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board School Readiness Initiative; and

WHEREAS, the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board has been awarded a federal Early Learning Opportunities Act Grant for its School Readiness Initiative;

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board dedicates the School Readiness Initiative to the memory of Dr. Mary McEvoy.
