Course Description

The focus of this course is to help participants achieve reliability in two observational measures of parent-child interaction that are widely used in research and practice: the Nursing Child Assessment Feeding (0-12 months) and Teaching (0-36 months) Scales. This is accomplished through discussion, lecture, use of videotapes, and careful listening and observational tasks. The program is intended for individuals from diverse clinical and educational backgrounds including:

  • early childhood educators
  • social workers
  • public health nurses
  • physical and occupational therapists
  • psychologists
  • pediatric practitioners

Education and experience in infant mental health and relationship-based practice are beneficial.
