In order to meet each point of CEED's
mission statement, we actively engage in a number of grant-funded
research and training projects. Each of these projects has its own unique goals and
benefits for young children. All of these programs, worthwhile on
their own, benefit from being part of the larger entity that is CEED.
Because we all work together, there is cross-pollination between
projects, which sustains our commitment to innovation.

Itasca Project
An
employer-led project to drive regional
efforts to keep the Twin Cities economy and
quality of life competitive with other
regions, including the goal to improve early
childhood development.
CEED is pleased to share the Itasca Project's
Early Childhood Development Program Review. This report, with
the cooperation of Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty's office, was
completed by McKinsey & Company on behalf of the Itasca Project.

Collaborations
|
A collaboration between CEED and the
Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, the collaborative fosters
multidisciplinary research on early childhood development from
birth to age 8 and explores connections between early education
and economic development, public health, and K-12 education. The
web site also features a Discussion Paper Series.
The Minnesota Literacy Council (MLC)
is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving literacy
throughout the state. The MLC offers literacy services for
adults and at-risk children, native-English speakers and
recent immigrants, and urban and rural residents.
MLC and CEED are cosponsoring
Building Blocks of Early
Literacy, a 3-part series, during October 2007 to February
2008.
A community-university collaborative
effort to enhance the social and economic environment in North
Minneapolis
Five
Hundred Under 5 (FHu5)
is a collaborative, multidimensional effort focused on two
residential areas in North Minneapolis.
