The primary objective of this evaluation
was to assess the effectiveness of the Center for Inclusive Child Care (PE
program) to address the training and resource needs of providers of
children with disabilities. To measure this effectiveness, trainees
were surveyed from the baseline period (2004-2005) regarding their use of PE
online resources and their practices with respect to caring for
children with special needs. Phase III of the PE
Evaluation Program was a follow-up
evaluation of the baseline data to continue
the longitudinal evaluation of PE trainees over a five-year period.
An annual survey was administered to
respondents from the baseline cohort (July 31, 2004 through March 5,
2005). Survey responses were anonymous. Only those respondents who
indicate their wish (annually) to be surveyed will be sent surveys in
future years. Survey results will be collated and analyzed to
determine the effectiveness of the PE training and resources. Results
will be compared to future surveys.
Inclusion criteria: Trainees who
were surveyed in the baseline cohort, who attended PE training for the
first time in 2004-2005, who operated an in-home child care center or
work in a child care center, and who volunteered to participate in the
evaluation. |
