Biography

I hold a Ph.D. in psychology (school psychology) from the University of Minnesota. Prior to returning to the U of M as an instructor, I worked as a school psychologist in the Minneapolis Public Schools. I currently am the a senior lecturer in the areas of assessment, instruction, supervision, and multicultural issues in education. In addition, I am the training director for the Minnesota Consortium for School Psychology Internships, and a supervisor for a Faculty Embedded Team.  My teaching and research interests include multiculturalism, LGBTQ issues, social-emotional intervention, translation of research to practice and at-risk groups in schools. As an intern and practicum student supervisor, my goal is to build meaningful relationships between our program and field sites, and to facilitate translation of research to practice and practice to research. Outside the U of M, I am a member of the executive board of the Minnesota School Psychologists Association.

I am the field placement coordinator for the school psychology program, as well as a lecturer in the areas of assessment, intervention and multicultural issues in education. My teaching and research interests include multiculturalism, reducing bias in assessment, LGBTQ issues, social-emotional intervention, and at-risk groups in schools. I am committed to helping advance the link between training and practice for school psychologists. I earned a Ph.D. in psychology (school psychology) from the University of Minnesota and worked as a school psychologist in the Minneapolis Public Schools for three years before joining the U of M staff in fall of 2008. I also supervise a number of 1st and 2nd year graduate students in my work as a contracting school psychologist with a local charter school.
