University of Minnesota Relocation Assistance Program

The Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) introduces new or prospective University of Minnesota faculty and staff to the richness and diversity of the Twin Cities campus and the communities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

RAP, a unit in the University of Minnesota's Office of Human Resources, operates independently of the hiring department. Candidates for positions and new employees may contact RAP directly to gather important campus and community information.

The University of Minnesota, a community within itself, also has many offices and programs that can make your personal and professional transition easier, and put you in touch with people with similar interests. Sometimes having a candid conversation with a resident or employee is the most enlightening way to obtain desired information. RAP maintains a list of minority scholars who are willing to talk confidentially about life in Minnesota and at the U of M with candidates and new hires. If you are interested in speaking with someone on this list, contact Mary Everley, associate director, Relocation Assistance Program, 1-800-227-8636, 612-626-0775, or rapland@umn.edu.
