Kinesiology

Many professional studies students in the field of kinesiology pursue careers in teaching, coaching, and health professions such as occupational and physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, nursing, and sports medicine. They work in schools, recreational settings, and sports-related businesses. Returning for additional education in this field allows working professionals to advance in their careers, become knowledgeable about the latest developments, and pursue research that will enhance their professional abilities and skills. Demand is increasing steadily for professionals with kinesiology backgrounds, especially as sports activities and sport-oriented industries continue to expand.

Master of education (M.Ed.) in applied kinesiology

The following three emphasis areas are offered: sport and exercise science, sport management, and developmental/adapted physical education (DAPE)

Master of arts (M.A.) in kinesiology

Offered through the Graduate School, our  M.A. program emphasizes research and theory in the context of classroom application. It generally culminates in an extensive research project and final oral exam. The application procedures and tuition fees correspond to those of the Graduate School.

Doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in kinesiology

Our Ph.D. degree is for students interested in focusing on a particular subject field and includes original research that makes a significant contribution to knowledge in that field. Students pursuing this degree are admitted through the Graduate School.
