Reading/literacy
This field of study is designed for education professionals who
are interested in adding to their knowledge and skills in the increasingly
important area of literacy development.
Both the reading licensure program and M.Ed. in literacy education
will develop leadership skills as well as content skills, enabling
those individuals who complete either program to work as literacy
leaders in their buildings and districts as well as work effectively
with children in their respective classrooms.
Additional licensure program in reading (K-12)
A team of faculty members in the College’s
Department of Curriculum and Instruction,
all of whom are experts in the field of literacy, have developed
this program and its coursework. It complements other literacy efforts
across the College, including the Reading First grant activities
and other critical literacy programs.
