Philanthropic Leadership Circle awards for 2008-09
2008-09 and prior award recipients
The Women’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle (WPLC) is an
organization whose
mission is to be a welcoming circle of women combining resources to
support and develop women leaders and philanthropists through the
College of Education and Human Development at the University of
Minnesota.
The WPLC makes annual awards to women within the College of
Education and Human Development who have demonstrated leadership in
research, program initiatives, and academic work. This year awards
of up to $3,000 each will be granted. We welcome proposals and
applications from two constituencies:
- Graduate students (non-licensure)
- Staff
In addition, the Rising Star award of $1,000 will be given to a
pre-tenured female faculty member of the College of Education and
Human Development who has demonstrated leadership and creativity in
an academic area as shown by research, teaching, and service and has
been nominated by a tenured member of the CEHD faculty.
Graduate scholarship award
Award given to student who
demonstrate academic promise and leadership ability
Staff award Award given for
demonstrated leadership in professional and community activities.
Rising Star Award
Awarded to a female junior faculty member in the
College whose research, teaching
and outreach holds great future promise. Award is intended to
help support faculty member’s research or outreach work.
