Meet the
Development Office staff
Lynn
Slifer director of development
Lynn enjoys working with the many generous alumni and friends whose
gifts support and enhance the work of the College of Education & Human
Development. Lynn is available to talk with you by phone or in person
about your ideas for gifts or any questions you may have about giving to
the College.
Lynn has worked in development for the past 23 years and at the
University for the past 15 years. She joined the staff of the College of
Education and Human Development in 1999 and likes the fact that the
mission of the College so strongly reflects her own values.
Lynn was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and has been a
Minnesota resident for about 32 (cold!) years. She is a graduate of
Valparaiso University in Indiana and the University of Minnesota, where
she earned a masters of fine arts in voice performance.
You can contact Lynn at 612-625-5511 or e-mail her at slife001@umn.edu

Richard Burbach
development
officer
The privilege of assisting the distinguished alumni and many
friends of the College of Education and Human Development expresses
both Richard’s personal values and professional priorities. His
greatest satisfaction comes with linking the generous desires of
donors with the work of a world-class faculty and the needs of our
excellent students.
Richard was a member of the Jesuit order for twenty-three years.
In addition to associating him to a broad range of colleges and
universities, this provided the opportunity to be a high school
teacher in the mid-1980s. Richard came to the University from the
College of Saint Benedict where he had served in a similar major
gift officer role since 2002.
Richard grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Minnesota in
1978. He is a Political Science graduate of Creighton University. He
holds a Masters degree in Political Science from St. Louis
University and a Master of Divinity from the Boston Theological
Union.
Richard is available at 612-625-4546. His email address is
rburbach@umn.edu.
Noriko Gamblin
development officer
As a development officer, Noriko enjoys meeting
friends and alumni of the University of Minnesota and helping them to
connect, or reconnect, with vital areas of interest at the College.
A longtime resident of Southern California, Noriko
is a relative newcomer to the Twin Cities. Her professional background
has centered on creating meaningful links between cultural institutions
and their constituencies. A former art museum curator of modern and
contemporary art, Noriko holds a B.A. in East Asian studies from the
College of William & Mary, and an M.A. in art history from the
University of Delaware.
