Graduate School programs
Specialist certificate
Two-year programs leading to a certificate of specialist in education
are offered through the University’s Graduate School and require
completion of at least 60 semester credits.
First-year students must meet regular admission, candidacy, and examination requirements for the M.A. degree and should specify the M.A. degree as their objective on admissions forms. Students already holding M.A. degrees should specify the certificate as their objective. Students usually complete M.A. requirements with a major in the field of specialization during the first year of the program. Continuation beyond the M.A. in a specialist program depends upon a performance evaluation.
