Early childhood education and early childhood special education: Finishing your M.Ed.
Just 2 more credits plus a paper or experience!
A final integrative paper or experience is required for the M.Ed. degree. You register for one of the following courses and work with your faculty adviser to determine the subject, content, and methodology.
- CI 5187—Practicum: Improvement of Teaching in Elementary or PreKindergarten Schools (2 cr)
- or EPSY 5991—Independent Study in Educational Psychology (2 cr)
In addition to completing all program requirements, you must complete the following forms:
- CEHD Application for M.Ed. Degree and/or Certificate
- Final program form or Academic Progress Audit System (APAS) report signed by your faculty adviser. Program forms are available from department offices or on the Web.
Student Services clears degrees for graduation on a monthly basis. Both forms must be submitted to a faculty adviser so they can be received at Student Services on or before the first day of the month that the student intends to graduate. Students who submit forms to Student Services after the first day of the month will be cleared to graduate at the end of the following month.
Notes: Students have seven years to complete their degree, beginning with the first coursework used in the program, and must maintain a 2.80 overall GPA.
Apply by March 1 if you plan to participate in the College commencement ceremony in May.
