About Jennifer
Jennifer Engler, Psy.D., joined the College of Education and Human Development in January, 2007. She works as the associate director for undergraduate student services. Prior to joining the College, she worked as a senior psychologist and program director of outreach and career development at University Counseling & Consulting Services (UCCS) in the Office of Student Affairs here at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities Campus.
Jennifer earned her doctorate in clinical psychology in 1998 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which is a state institution of higher education located in a small town named Indiana, just one hour northeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She completed her predoctoral internship at UCCS at the University of Minnesota. After one year as a staff psychologist in Counseling Services at the College of St. Benedict, Jennifer returned to UCCS where she worked seven years prior to joining the College.
Jennifer joined student services in the College of Education and Human Development to live out her commitment to students’ success as she works hard to decrease the barriers students face in identifying and pursuing a best fit educational pathway through the University. Jennifer welcomes ideas, feedback, and innovation from students, staff, faculty, and parents about how best to create high quality student services in the College.
Jennifer is a native of the metropolitan area having completed her undergraduate degree at Macalester College in St. Paul, after completing her first year at Mills College in Oakland, California. Jennifer is a single parent to her six-year old son, Ethan. Together they enjoy swimming, bike riding, nature walks, and amusement park rides.
