Completing your undergraduate degree

Requirements for graduation

Here are the criteria that all students must meet to be granted a bachelor of science degree from the University of Minnesota:

Applying for graduation

Apply to graduate at least one full semester before completion of the final coursework and internship.

  1. Review your APAS report to make sure all degree requirements have been met or are in progress.
  2. Meet with both your College and department advisers the semester before you hope to graduate to make sure you’re on track.
  3. Submit the online Application for Undergraduate Degree.

Commencement ceremony

Taking part in the College’s commencement ceremony does not mean that you have officially graduated! The commencement ceremony is held each May. In order to participate in the ceremony, you need to have applied to graduate no later than for the summer immediately following the spring commencement.
