Education and Human Development

Problem solvers. Advocates. Leaders.

Programs to fit your journey

We empower future educators, researchers, and leaders to make a meaningful impact in the world. Our diverse range of programs is designed to meet you where you are on your educational journey, whether you're an aspiring teacher, an experienced professional seeking advancement, or a researcher looking to innovate.

Undergraduate programs

There are 10 majors within four themes: Education, Business, Wellness/Heath, and Social Sciences which are all centered around the commitment to improving lives and helping others at various stages of life.

Graduate programs

Our degrees and programs are looking forward. We prepare you for a rapidly changing world. All of CEHD’s graduate programs are imbued with our own original research. In CEHD, you will study with experienced researchers working on the forefront of knowledge in their fields.

Big ten university, small college feel

CEHD is considered the "people college." With a smaller college, students are able to build a community and connect with faculty and staff. We help students feel like they're a part of a smaller community while they are at a large public university. It's essential that our students know they're not just a number, but rather an important part of our CEHD community.

How can we help?

Career services for students

CEHD has a dedicated Career Services team who works with students to connect them to their future careers. Career Services works with students through all aspects of the major and career development process, helping to prepare them to be hired by local schools, hospitals, business, non profits, BIG 10 college teams, and more. Students are working across the Twin Cities, Minnesota, the nation and even around the world, showing what the value of an education from CEHD has to offer for our students and the greater community.

Student-centered advising

Students are assigned an advisor at orientation and work with them through graduation. Advisors understand that students have intersecting identities and work to support them in a holistic way. Advisors help to explore potential majors and opportunities so that students gain the most from their time here. Students can ask about registration, completing their degree, find out about campus life, and University resources. Students are assigned a major advisor when they declare a major of choice; we call it a dual advising system.

Alumni

CEHD has a strong alumni network locally, nation-wide and globally. This allows students to build relationships, get jobs, internships, and real world experiences. Graduates make a real difference in peoples lives as educators and human service professionals. Our alumni are eager to give back to CEHD and make themselves available for mentoring and networking.
