Faculty positions
Assistant Professor, Psychological Foundations of Education
Apply your expertise of cognitive science and AI in education.
We seek an individual with expertise in cognition/cognitive science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education, broadly construed. This individual will have a strong research program focused on one or more of the following areas: theoretical and empirical examinations of the various ways people think and learn in relation to technology and AI; factors that influence learning with AI or the trust of AI; design of AI-based systems that incorporate cognitive science theories; and ethical and societal implications of AI in learning and education, including bias and data privacy. This is a tenure-track position.
Associate Professor, Quantitative Methods in Education
Promote statistical methods in education research.
We seek an individual to contribute to research, teaching, and service with a primary affiliation within the quantitative methods in education program. The individual in this position will be well-versed in the development and application of statistical methods in education research and has evidence of, or the potential to develop, a nationally recognized research program that contributes to the interdisciplinary research environment of the department, college, and University. This is a tenure-track position.
Staff positions
Accountant / Finance Professional 2 and 3
We seek individuals responsible for a unit/department’s accounting, budget, and financial and post-award grant management. This includes maintaining the assigned unit’s chart of accounts in accordance with University and college policy, approving financial transactions, reconciling financial activity, preparing budgets, and drafting reports and analysis for leadership among other duties. The professional 3 position also includes providing oversight, monitoring, and training of college-wide business processes.
Education Program Coordinator in Learning Technologies
Our Learning Technologies program engages in research, teaching, and development regarding the integration, teaching, and design of technology-based environments for PK-12, business, community, and online learning settings. We seek an individual to direct and coordinate the program area’s initial licensure programs and courses related to PK-12 technology integration; supervise instructors and personnel; provide leadership in the innovative use of learning technologies; work with other programs and initiatives to develop and update curricula; lead and facilitate external accreditation processes; support the growth and development of the learning technologies program; and teach courses.
Pre K-12 Specialist Senior
We seek an individual to support the development and delivery of professional services and resources for educators who focus on evidence-based instructional practices in literacy. The primary purpose is to improve the quality of education for all learners. This position will be responsible for leading a variety of assigned projects around the implementation of evidence- based literacy practices. The position requires an in-depth level of knowledge of the science of reading, multi-tiered systems of support, and implementation science. Join UMN's Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement and help support educators who specialize in literacy instruction.
Research Professional 1
We seek an individual to assist in coordinating a research project funded by the National Institute of Mental Health. This project is a four-year longitudinal, mixed-method study on adolescents’ social media use and mental health. The individual in this position will assist with collecting survey, behavioral, and interview data from adolescent participants as well as preparing correspondence, documents, and reports.
Pre K-12 Specialist
We seek a literacy specialist to support the development and delivery of professional services and resources for educators who focus on evidence-based instructional practices in literacy. The primary purpose is to improve the quality of education for all learners. Persons in this role will possess an in-depth level of knowledge of the science of reading and multi-tiered systems of support as well as expertise in the field of education leadership and systems improvement. PACC & PLX Community Trainer
We seek an individual to support statewide training of professionals engaged in service to children and families involved in social service agencies. This individual will provide high quality, culturally responsive, competency-based training to county and tribal child welfare professionals as well as professionals working in mental health, chemical and behavioral health, education, court and legal arenas, etc. Duties include classroom preparation and training and providing coaching and feedback to trainers. This is a short-term position
On-Call Assistant Child Care Teacher
We seek an individual to work in collaboration with a teacher to plan and implement a high-quality, responsive, enriching, and supportive learning environment that is respectful of each child’s background, development, and needs. This individual will help to develop a weekly curriculum and learning experiences that are rich with relational experiences designed to support the development of a range of social, emotional, self-help, language, literacy, cognitive,
and motor skills.
