Exciting International Internship Opportunity: Teach and Learn in Dharamsala, India!
The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is partnering with the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) School to offer a unique six-week internship for graduate students in Summer 2025. This hands-on experience will allow you to collaborate with TCV teachers to enhance student learning in a variety of educational areas, including classroom management, differentiated instruction, and integrating art in teaching.
As an intern, you’ll work alongside TCV educators to implement strategies that foster academic growth, social skills, and emotional well-being, while also contributing to the development of educational practices that balance innovative teaching approaches and Tibetan cultural teaching practices. You’ll help improve student motivation, support special education needs, and assist with stress management programs for students facing unique emotional challenges.
Interns should have experience with teaching, curriculum development, and teacher training. Interns will be expected to design and deliver training workshops on a variety of school related topics, such as classroom management, cooperative teaching, differentiated instruction, student motivation, special education teaching approaches, etc. Students will have a faculty supervisor to help support the development of workshop materials. Faculty supervisors are involved throughout the program, both prior to departure and during the first two weeks in India.
As part of this six-weeks students will also spend time at Men-Tsee-Khang Tibetan Medical & Astro College. This is our second year partnering with MTK to work with their faculty and staff on professional development. Students will support the medical school in organizing and delivering sessions related to teaching and learning. Students will spend one week at MTK and five weeks at TCV.
This program offers invaluable cross-cultural teaching experience, while making a positive impact on the lives of Tibetan children and community. Apply now for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
