Halimo Yusuf is a rising senior at the University of Minnesota. She is majoring in psychology with a minor in chemistry. Her research interest lies in understanding the experiences of first generation college students with a special focus on their academic achievement. Halimo plans on obtaining her masters on physician assistant studies possibly specializing in family medicine.

Faculty mentor
Liza Meredith is currently a professor in the psychology department at the University of Minnesota. She currently teaches the Introduction to Psychology as well as the Counseling Psychology courses. Dr. Meredith attended UW-Madison to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota in the Counseling Psychology department. Her research interest lies in understanding how people cope with stressful life events, interpersonal relationships, stress management interventions and online interventions. Dr. Meredith has published and presented her work multiple times.
