My name is Unzeilya Tyazhina, I graduated master degree at L.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, where I specialized in foreign languages. I started my professional journey at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2015 to 2018, I led the International Department at the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility Center, Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Specializing in internationalizing higher education and focused on student exchange programs, global rankings, and foreign student development. Also, I overseen collaborative projects such as "Enhancing Innovation Competences and Entrepreneurial Skills in engineering education (InnoCENS)" with the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) as part of the Erasmus+ program.
Since March 2020, I have been serving as the Deputy Head of the International Office at M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University. In this role, I contribute to the university's internationalization efforts and oversees various initiatives related to international partnerships, student mobility, and recruitment. I would like to contue my professional experience in the field of internationalization of higher education.
And as a visiting scholar at UMN, my main goals are twofold: to engage in cutting-edge research and to foster meaningful academic collaborations. This program presents a unique opportunity to immerse myself in an intellectually stimulating environment, collaborate with esteemed researchers, and access resources that will significantly enhance my research capabilities. In terms of my long-term professional goals, I aim to expand my expertise in global education and develop a deeper understanding of the latest advancements in my area of interest.
